AutoDesk has announced that the latest version of their Flame family of products will support Apple’s M1 line of processors.
Since Apple jettisoned Intel in favor of an in-house line of processors, the rollout from major software companies has been gradual at best. This has forced many VFX shops to wait on hardware upgrades until business-critical applications were fully supported and able to take advantage of the increased speeds offered by newer Apple computers.
Flame Version 2022.3 is an update to Flame, Flare, and Flame Assist. The update was released January 19 and provides support for Apple computers running M1, M1 Pro and M1 Pro Max processors.
